What Makes Sabbath Day “Holy”

Everything in life has a purpose. The purpose of a thing is the reason for that thing. Lack of knowledge of a thing causes the abuse of it.

The purpose of the Sabbath day is not for worship but for rest. In Gen.2:1-3  "Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made".

What makes Sabbath day holy in Old Testament is not attendance in worship centers but giving of oneself, servants and domestic animals rest.

The essence of Sabbath-keeping was physical rest not attendance nor activities in religious houses. In Exodus 20:8-11 and Deuteronomy 5:12-15, the law Sabbath command specifies rest from labor as the way to keep the day “holy.” There is no mention in the Bible that Sabbath day is for worship. The Sabbath day observance was a pointer to Jesus Christ who is the actual rest, that is why Jesus says "come unto me, all ye that labour and heavy laden, I will give you rest". In Mark 2:28 Jesus says "Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath". Every day in Israel is for worship. If you have received Jesus as Lord, you have entered into His rest. Rest from struggles and difficulties, then accept your rest in Him.  In Jesus Christ is Sabbath because Sabbath means rest.
Therefore, I  decree and declare, receive rest from that sickness or disease in Jesus mighty name.  Receive rest from sorrow and disappointment. Receive rest from barrenness, poverty, lack and setback in Jesus name.
God bless you.
