Is there compulsion in religion by any individual or group or organization?
Based
on the scriptures above, there is no compulsion in religious beliefs.
Quran 2:256 says "There is no compulsion in religion". The Bible says in Isaiah 1:19 "If you be willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the land." In Deut. 30:19 "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I
have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore
choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live": "For whosoever shall
do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother".
In Nigeria Constitution of 1999 section 38 says "there is freedom
thoughts, conscience and religion.
Those
scriptures show that God has not compel anyone into any religion. Even the Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria does not oblige to compulsion of any religion. Therefore, no one has right to force religion on
anyone. Forcing religion on anybody or killing somebody in the name of religion is
satanic. Hatred on anybody is satanic and individuals who engage in such
wickedness are agents of the devil. Jesus Christ describing the Jews
action trying to kill Him are doing it for their master the devil, "John
8:44
"Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will
do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth,
because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of
his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it".
To
believe in a religion and hide in it, use it to perpetuate evils is
madness. You don't force anyone to accept the truth. Truth is not
violent because God is truth. The truth cannot be killed nor
exterminated that is why despite the persecution the church experienced
in the hands of Jews, Roman Catholic during Papacy era, Islamic Jihadist
over the years yet matching on gloriously. Until the church is taking
away into heaven by rapture, the truth must continue no matter the plans of
the enemies against her because Jesus is Lord.
